Manuel Vega was born in Havana, Cuba in 1894. He began his studies in 1908 at the Escuela de San Alejandro, and continued his training first in Paris, then in Italy under the instruction of Anticoli Corrado. Upon his return to Cuba, he exhibited his work in the halls of the Asociacion de Pintores y Escultores to great success.
