Vicente Hernandez Curriculum Vitae
BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
Vicente Hernández was born on November 9, 1971 in Batabanó, Havana, Cuba. In 1994, Hernández received a degree in art education from the Instituto Superior de Batabanó and worked for two years as a professor in this university’s Department of Fine Arts. He has garnered several awards and honorable mentions, including prizes from the Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (2006, 2004, 2000, 1998, 1996, 1994), an Honorable Mention at the Eduardo Abela Exposition (1997) and First Prize in the contest Jornada Cucalambiana de Décima Ilustrada, (1996). Hernández has also illustrated the covers of numerous books, including Arturo Arango’s award-winning novel Muerte de nadie (TusQuets Editores,2004). The artist currently resides in Batabanó, Cuba.
