“It is significant for the artist to establish
in his work a symbolic dialog about the
relationships of human beings with the floral
kingdom and the animal world. Manuel Mendive
appeals to the anthropomorphic metamorphosis
of the figures to demonstrate that plants and
animals are the true compliment of humans - all
significant - not only, nor principally because
of the so-called evolution of the species,
but mostly because in the spiritual world they,
plants and animals, are essential to divinities
and to their spiritual energies.”
Dr. Guillermina Ramos Cruz,
author of the book Lam y Mendive,
Barcelona, 2009.
