Cuban Art in the 20th Century lecture by Segundo J. Fernandez

Cernuda Arte invites you to an art lecture by SEGUNDO J. FERNANDEZ on CUBAN ART IN THE 20TH CENTURY, the largest exhibition on Cuban Art in the United States in over 70 years. WHEN: April 21, 2017, at 7:00PM WHERE: Cernuda Arte 3155 Ponce de León Blvd., Coral Gables, Florida

Segundo Fernandez's lecture will be based on his extensive research on Cuban art and how this exhibition has presented the public an opportunity to appreciate its history through a telling international lens. As Fernandez has stated:

"Cuban art in the 20th century was very much at the forefront of what we call the International Avant Garde movement. There was a lot of interaction between artists born in Cuba and artists in the European and North American art worlds. Artists fom the island were studying abroad and bringing back ideas to Cuba, but they were also bringing ideas to Europe and North America."
