    A spotlight on works by AUGUSTO, PHILIPPE and ESTEBAN CHARTRAND, a trio of brothers who were seminal in developing the art of Cuban landscape painting. The Chartrand brothers remain giants in the field of early Pan-American landscape art, and are frequently in exhibition by museums and intitutions. The Chartrand Brothers are among the earliest ranked and recognized artists born on the isle of Cuba.

    A collection of extraordinary plates and engravings, including a view of Havana in 1855 by ED WILLMANN, the oldest known engraving of Havana by JACOB VAN MEURS, 1671, an ELIAS DURNFORD engraving of religious architecture from the 1760's, and a hand-illuminated engraving of Matanzas by the master EDUARDO LAPLANTE. These marvels of antiquity are among the oldest in the gallery's collection, and provide a priceless snapshot of a changing world.
