“The portrayal of delicate and rich fabrics – lace, chintz, organdy, satin, brocade and calico – reminisces the creations of some Dutch baroque painters, in that it embodies great attention to the minute details that enhance the visual brilliance of the painting. The intricate patterns of threads, reproduced in the dresses, tapestries and quilts, appear to have been individually brush-stroked into place by the artist, so that the viewer finds oneself seeing and feeling the differences in texture of the clothes depicted.”
