    A Surrealist Century, a group show commemorating
    100 years of the Surrealist art movement
    as seen from the entrance of Cernuda Arte's
    second gallery space.

    Above, a 1955 ink work by the Maestro Wifredo Lam
    and below, a one-of-a-kind ceramic from the artist's
    Italian period. In the windowsill, an elegant
    bronze by the great Agustín Cárdenas.

    When Surrealism reached Latin America,
    it blended with the region’s multicultural
    traditions, myths, and histories.
    This fusion gave rise to Magic Realism,
    which presents everyday life with fantastical elements.
