Tomás Sánchez was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, on May 22nd, 1948. He completed studies at the San Alejandro Academy of Art and later went on to the Cubanacan school of art. The artist is multitalented in painting, drawing, engraving, and design. He has had numerous personal exhibitions in Cuba, Spain, Greece, Austria, etc. Sánchez has obtained the Joan Miró Prize granted by the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona, Spain, and other major awards both within Cuba and internationally. The artist lives and works in southern Florida.
