Among the most important surrealist artists of the 20th century,
the multidisciplinary Wifredo Lam was a ceaselessly
creative visionary. We are honored to include
more than fifteen works by this international master
in this exhibition. Left, four oil on canvas works
from the 1960s and 1970s. Against the column,
an exquisite bronze from his Italian period.
Right, the historic and elegant 1940s oil on canvas
masterwork, Untitled [Silence of the Jungle].

“A true picture has the power to set the imagination to work, even if it takes time.”
 -Wifredo Lam

In the great surrealist tradition of Marc Chagall
and Wifredo Lam, the Afro-Cuban master
Manuel Mendive imbues his artwork with spiritual narratives.
Left to right, a work on canvas in an artist-made iron frame,
a work on canvas, and two beautiful works on paper,
all exemplifying his inimitable visual universe.
